Sugar U has its roots in California, Kalyn started her sugaring in Los Angeles and brought the West Coast style of training to Ohio in 2014! We utilize organic sugar paste made of just lemon juice, water, and sugar- that's it! No strips or sticks, we apply and remove the sugar with just a gloved hand, the way they did it in Egypt, where body sugaring was born. Our foundation is our sugaring team, the women at Sugar U care so passionately about the service we provide and always keep client comfort and salon cleanliness our number one priority! We believe in a natural approach to skin care, grooming, and beauty. Our second priority is to have all of our clients leave feeling as though they have a new friend, creating bonds with our clients is of utmost importance, after all it doesn't get any closer than this ;)
Our Story
Sugar U started out as just a dream inside a humble little room in Rocky River in 2014. Kalyn moved home from California and set out on a mission to bring this wonderful grooming alternative to the men and women of Ohio. It took some time for word to get around but by 2016 Sugar U started to thrive. Kalyn was able to hire and train another esthetician, add some more rooms to accommodate more clientele and before she knew it, Sugar U LLC had taken on a life of its own. Like anything that grows, Sugar U has had its challenges and ups and down. However, after a bit of hard work,inspiration, new ideas and alot of support, Kalyn was able to push through and recreate the face and name of Sugar U in 2022. Sugar U has had a breath of fresh air and is better than before. Operating now in 2024 in Brunswick, Kalyn still owns and facilitates the salon, Sugar U has grown in maturity and we cannot wait to see where the next decade takes us, it's been a beautiful ride so far!
